Our service is livestreamed to our Facebook page (https://m.facebook.com/stpetersheboygan/) each Sunday morning. Following worship, the service will be uploaded to YouTube (https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCkvPIB8agxVhS72C5822etA) and our website (https://stpetersheboygan.com). The weekly bulletin is attached to this email if you would like to follow along with the online service.
Worship Assistants
Please consider signing up to be a worship assistant! Each week we need help with ushering, communion serving, reading, altar guild and recording the 8am service. You can sign up using the Sign-Up Genius link below (through January), or you can call Carrie (920.452.4771) and she can sign you up for any duty at any service. Thank you for all of your help!!
Stay Healthy!
It’s cold and flu season! These cold temperatures force everyone indoors and the germs are out in full force. This is just a reminder that if you are not feeling well, please stay home and enjoy worship online. If you do come to church, please consider wearing a mask to protect yourself and others! Masks are still available inside the main doors and at the fellowship hall entrance.
SUNDAY SCHOOL/COFFEE FELLOWSHIP UPDATE
Beginning this Sunday, January 8th, Sunday School will meet in the fellowship hall and coffee fellowship will meet in the fireside room. For safety reasons, the fellowship hall doors are intentionally locked on Sunday mornings. Please use the main doors to enter the building when you come for worship, Sunday School, or coffee fellowship. You may exit through the main doors or fellowship hall doors.

SOCIAL OUTREACH MISSION NEWS
Mitten Tree
The Mitten Tree is up in the hallway to the Fellowship Hall and ready for your donations of warm mittens and gloves for our friends at the elementary schools. Thank you!
Fidget Mats
Fidget mats and cuffs continue to be popular items. We give thanks to the many hands that create these, each with their own special style and creativity. Every place we take them there is so much appreciation, especially since their budgets are small and because of your generosity in giving doodads and gizmos we can gift them. Please join us each Thursday morning from 10am to noon in the Quadrooms. No experience necessary, we can help you get started.
Quilting
Join us for quilting for Lutheran World Relief on Tuesdays from 9am– 12pm in the quad room. Please come, we have a lot of work to do. No experience necessary. We will teach you. See you there.
El Salvador News
Sponsor letters will be coming out in January. This year there are 12 students that will be leaving our program – several because of graduations! There are a few that had to move from the area due to gang problems. We have received a list of 21 new students, most in the grade school system. We will be seeking help from the entire congregation hoping to find some new sponsors. If you have any questions, feel free to ask me anytime. The cost of sponsoring a student in the grade school is $180.00 per year. Cost breaks down to $15.00 a month or $3.75 per week. Scholarships can be paid over an entire year or may be paid in a lump sum. It’s up to the individual sponsors. All I ask is for prayerful consideration. Love Always, Jim
Northside Christian Food Pantry
Every month in 2023 there will be a list of most needed items, though other food items will always be accepted. In January, the focus is on paper products: Toilet Paper, Paper Towels, Napkins and Kleenex. Place items in the food cart near the coat rack. Thank you. Pat L.
SCIO
THANK YOU!! The faith community showed up this holiday season IN A BIG WAY!! All of our programs benefited from your generous donors, both in-kind and monetary! Our Bridgeway families were extremely grateful for the gifts and thoughtfulness behind each donation and enjoyed making warm memories. We shared your generosity by providing some new board games with our Family Pathways members so they can look forward to new activities during their weekly visits. As an organization that receives less than 5% funding through federal/state channels, we are so GRATEFUL for this AMAZING COMMUNITY!
The Winter Market will continue every first and third Saturday from 9am-12pm, January through April. The Winter Market is located inside First Congregational UCC Church, 310 Bluff Avenue. We will continue to offer EBT and $15 Double Your Bucks match at every market! Look for new vendors in 2023!
Two families are currently living in the Bridgeway House. One family with 3 children, and one family with 2 members. A family of four will be moved into Bridgeway house the first week of January. Please hold the Bridgeway family in your thoughts and prayers as we venture through a season of change with staff and new residents.
We have a need for twin- and full-size blankets for Bridgeway residents, as well as city bus passes.
Family Pathways has seen four families move to unsupervised visits in the past month – what a wonderful example of how families can overcome adversity and create brighter futures for their children! If you know of a family that could benefit from supervised visitation services, please have them contact us at familypathways@sheboygancountyinterfaith.org.
The 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline is now operational. This lifeline provides care and support to people experiencing stressful situations. It is free, confidential, and is available 24/7. People of all ages who need help for themselves or a loved one can access the 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline by: calling 988, sending a text message to 988, or using the chat feature at 988lifeline.org. People who contact 988 will be connected with a trained counselor who takes note of the person’s needs, understands how the person’s problem is affecting them, provides support, and, if needed, gets the person additional help.
