TASK FORCE UPDATE
It looks like we have reached the peak with cases in this wave.  While case numbers are still high, the task force has decided to take a step forward.  It has been five weeks since the Wisconsin Council of Churches recommended that congregations limit in-person activities for four to six weeks.  With enough time passing, decreasing case numbers, and the safety mitigation strategies we have in place at St. Peter, the task force believes we can resume regular in person activities.  We will continue to wear our masks and distance during worship and when we are in the church building.

Over the past few weeks, some people have decided to worship online, and others have worshiped in person.  Whether you have been online or in person, God is with you!  When it comes to in person worship and activities at St. Peter, please give yourself and others grace as we continue to navigate through the pandemic.  For many people it seems like this is over, but hospitals are still overwhelmed, and people are still getting sick and dying.  Please remember that the numbers are still high, and we still need to live into the command we have to love each other.  As of February 2nd in Sheboygan County, percent positivity is 28.09% and 7-Day Cases are 1,170.45 per 100,000 people.  We still need to take necessary precautions.  Please be safe!

If you have any questions, please reply to this email and it will be forwarded to a member of the task force: Leslie, Renee, Joy, Paul, Carrie, and Pastor Kristin.

SOCIAL OUTREACH MISSION NEWS
Quilting
Join us for quilting for Lutheran World Relief on Tuesdays from 9am– 12pm in the quad room.  Please come, we have a lot of work to do.  No experience necessary.  We will teach you.  See you there.  Peace, Wendy B.

Fidget Mats
The fidget mat group would like to extend the invitation to join us every Thursday in the quadroom from 10am to noon.   We have been abundantly blessed with all sorts of fabric, doodads and gizmos to put on these sensory mats to be distributed to nursing homes, high schools and childcare education centers which are used for distraction, comfort, and mental stimulation for those in need.  No need for experience, you’ll be surprised at your own creativity, and we will give you direction.  As our group will tell you, it is therapy and enjoyment for us also.  There is much to do so stop in when you can and see what goes on!

El Salvador Student Sponsor Update
The 2022 El Salvador student sponsor form was mailed to each sponsor. It provides you with a brief description of how this ministry works and makes you aware of your student’s name, grade and scholarship costs. Please take a moment to review this pertinent information.

This year there are a large number of elementary students who are new to the scholarship program and do not have assigned sponsors. So, the El Salvador Team is looking for individuals (St Peter members or community members) who might be interested in becoming a sponsor. Please respond to this email if you are interested in learning more about this ministry or the possibility of becoming a student sponsor.

In order to assist the El Salvador team this year, all sponsors are asked to return the bottom portion of the sponsor form to the St. Peter Office expressing your continuing interest in sponsoring a student for 2022.

A huge thanks to all who provide financial support for this ministry by providing scholarships or ministry support for our sister church Apostles of Christ.
