ST. PETER ORGANIZATIONAL STRUCTURE
We thought it was a good time to remind everyone of our organizational structure at St. Peter. A chart is attached to this email, which will be very helpful in understanding how this works! It is a structure that is built around collaboration and healthy communication.
Each Ministry Team is part of a Mission. Each Mission exists for different purposes, but they are all rooted in the gospel and carry out the mission of St. Peter Lutheran Church to “Glorify God by building healthy relationship with God, with one another, and with our community following the example of Jesus Christ.” Ministry Teams meet as needed to carry out specific goals related to specific ministries.
Each Mission is assigned a council liaison. Some Missions may have more than one liaison. The liaison(s) function as a link between Ministry Teams within the Missions and the church council. The liaison(s) are not required to attend meetings and events for teams in their Missions. If you are part of a Ministry Team and don’t know who your council liaison is, please ask Joy, our council president, or reply to this email and Carrie will get you the appropriate information.
Below is a description of the Missions at St. Peter. Remember to use the chart that is attached to this email to give you a whole picture and a list of Ministry Teams in each Mission!
Social Outreach Mission – This mission consists of church, community, synod, and international ministries that focus on efforts to live into Matthew 25:35-40. The Social Outreach Mission supports a wide variety of local, national, and international efforts that include, but are not limited to: promoting justice; providing school supplies; donating food; building relationships; and traveling to partner congregations.
Lifelong Learning Mission – Ministries for all ages that are related to the learning, service, and growth of the congregation. The Lifelong Learning Mission connects members of the congregation through worship, prayer, play, and fellowship ministries.
Worship and Witness Mission – This mission oversees the worship life of the congregation. The Worship and Witness Mission ministries offer direction through leadership in worship planning, preparing recommendations, and taking action related to all aspects of worship, music, and the use of worship space.
Resource Development Mission – This mission consists of ministries that work to ensure responsible care of the building, grounds, finances, and financial future of St. Peter. The Resource Development Mission offers consideration and attention to financial activities and takes care of the physical property of the church.
Parish Life Mission – These ministries offer activities, learning, service, and growth through fellowship, entertainment, information sharing, and relationship building. Parish Life Mission Ministries operate within their own spirit-driven time frame and may overlap with other Missions in the church.

SOCIAL OUTREACH MISSION NEWS
El Salvador News
One last chance to get your letters in! Your student would love to hear from you but we need time to translate. You can drop your letter in the box on the El Salvador display in the fellowship hallway. I am leaving Nov 5th for El Salvador. Jim S.
Dartball Aluminum Can Drive
Let’s do this one more time! Thanks so much for the great response to the September can drive! Let’s do it again on Sunday, October 30th between services. Bring your bags of aluminum cans (aluminum only – please continue to recycle your other items) to the kitchen entrance (north side) of the building between services on October 30th. If you would like someone to pick up your aluminum, please reply to this email and we will coordinate a time for you.
The Mitten Tree is up in the back corner of the Fellowship Hall and ready for your donations of warm mittens and gloves for our friends at the elementary schools. We did receive a wonderful donation of almost 120 handmade hats – so we would love your donations of mittens and gloves in a range of colors and sizes. We would love to send items to the schools before it gets cold, so they are ready to go! Thank you!
Northside Christian Food Pantry
NSCFP recently had 54 people accessing the pantry, serving 128 household members. The pantry is grateful for your partnership in serving them. The pantry distribution hours are Thursday from 12:30pm – 2pm at 2133 North 21st Street, Sheboygan.
The following is a list of our greatest needs: Bottled Juice/Iced Tea, Spaghetti Sauce (no low sodium sauce is needed), Canned Vegetables, Canned Fruit, Cereal, Breakfast Bars, Large Canned Soup, Pasta/Rice Sides, Canned Meals/Beef Stew, and Plastic Grocery Bags.
On Friday, September 16th, 24 fidget mats and 7 cuffs were delivered to Pine Haven in Falls, North High and South High. Fidgeters, keep up the outstanding creativity you have in creating mats because not only do they give us joy, but we are doing what Jesus wants us to do in loving our community. The comments were: “These are cool and you guys rock,” “These are awesome and creativity is wonderful,” “How fun!” and “3 classes will share these great mats.”
God Bless this congregation for their generosity in gifting the doodads and gizmos so we in turn can continue to gift mats. I wish everyone could see the reaction when I make these deliveries. Priceless! To the Glory of God. Peace!
Join us for quilting for Lutheran World Relief on Tuesdays from 9am– 12pm in the quad room. Please come, we have a lot of work to do. No experience necessary. We will teach you. See you there.
Items that we would especially appreciate at this time are toilet paper, napkins, 13-gallon garbage bags, and facial tissues.
Bridgeway remains near capacity in our ministry to assist vulnerable women with children. They are getting into the swing of back to school and the new pace that comes with a new routine. The mentoring program has started, and we are grateful for the generosity of our Bridgeway graduates to share their support and lived experiences to help current women in residency.
Bridgeway Appeal 2022: Please be generous with your support! We are serving over 200 women and children annually through residency and outreach programs. Your support is more important than ever so we can continue to meet the needs of this vulnerable population!
The SCIO Summer Farmers Market runs through the end of October! We will be in Fountain Park every Wednesday and Saturday from 8am-1pm, offering EBT and Double Your Bucks at every market. The Senior Farmers Market Nutrition Program vouchers will only be available through the end of September. Winter market begins the first weekend in November – mark your calendars!
Family Pathways is the only private supervised visitation program in Sheboygan County. If you or a family you know is going through a transition, please contact us about this service. There are currently openings on our schedule. firstname.lastname@example.org
The 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline is now operational. This lifeline provides care and support to people experiencing stressful situations. It is a free, confidential, and is available 24/7. People of all ages who need help for themselves or a loved one can access the 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline by: calling 988, sending a text message to 988, or using the chat feature at 988lifeline.org. RESOURCE DEVELOPMENT MISSION
St. Peter Endowment Fund Update
St. Peter is on our way to make a difference for future generations to come. Our Endowment Fund journey has reached a critical milestone. We now are able to participate in the ELCA Mission Growth Fund. We needed to meet the $25,000 minimum deposit required. This minimum deposit took many of your financial gifts large and small. We are so grateful for every gift given to the Endowment Fund. As of August 31, 2022, St. Peter Endowment Fund has $26,186.76.
On a quarterly basis, the Endowment Team will provide a financial update in the newsletter. The Endowment Team is committed to share with the congregation the importance of the Endowment Fund and how each person can impact the future of God’s work here in this place we call St. Peter Lutheran Church. The purpose of the Endowment is to enhance the benevolent mission of St. Peter apart from the general operating budget. If you would like to learn more how you can make a difference just ask your Endowment Team or Pastor Kristin. Thank you for all your support. It is truly appreciated. Your Endowment Team, Pat, Ron, Dick and Pam
