8:00am & 10:00am – Worship in the sanctuary.  We will wear masks and distance.

9:15am-9:45am – Sunday School in the parking lot if the weather is nice and in the fellowship hall if the weather is not nice.  A grown-up must stay with each household of children.  See details in ‘Lifelong Learning Mission News’ below for more details.

Christmas Poinsettia Order
Let’s make our sanctuary a beautiful and festive place to worship this Christmas season!  Poinsettias are 6.5″ and have 4-6 blooms.  They are available in red, white, pink and marble, and are $10.50 each.  Please send your order and check to St. Peter by Sunday, November 28th.  Plants may be picked up after the Christmas service.

SOCIAL OUTREACH MISSION NEWS
What is WELCA?
We are WELCA and our purpose is:  As a community of women all women of the church created in the image of God, called to discipleship in Jesus Christ, and empowered by the Holy Spirit, we commit ourselves to grow in faith continuing to have our weekly Bible study and monthly Leah Circle, affirm our gifts sewing quilts for LWR and Linus, making fidget mats for local nursing homes, childcare centers and for mental stimulation, assembling layette, health and school kits for LWR, having St. Peter’s Café, and other fundraisers allow us to have more impact in the worldsupport one another in our calling reaching out with greeting cards, emails and phone calls, engage in ministry and actioby including all women and promise healing and wholeness in the church, society and world supporting El Salvador, Bridgeway, ELCA Synod, LeRoy G Knaub Scholarship, Youth Camp, Confirmation reception and quilts for graduates.  So, we invite all women to come join us in our activities and meetings.  All are welcome.

Quilting for Lutheran World Relief
Join us for quilting every Tuesday from 9am – 12pm in the quadroom.  Please come, we have a lot of work to do.  With all the earthquakes, hurricanes and other natural disasters, LWR is in desperate need of quilts.  No experience necessary.  We will teach you.  See you there.  Peace, Wendy B.

Fidget Mats
The fidget mat group would like to extend the invitation to join us every Thursday in the quadroom from 10am to noon.   We have been abundantly blessed with all sorts of fabric, doodads and gizmos to put on these sensory mats to be distributed to nursing homes, high schools and child care education centers which are used for distraction, comfort and mental stimulation for those in need.   No need for experience, you’ll be surprised at your own creativity and we will give you direction.  As our group will tell you, it is therapy and enjoyment for us also.   There is much to do so stop in when you can and see what goes on!

Farmer’s Market
The SCIO Winter Farmers Market has begun!  The market will be held the first and third Saturdays from 9am-12pm at First Congregational UCC, 310 Bluff Avenue, Sheboygan.  We have new vendors and new products to share.  We also continue to offer EBT services and DYB vouchers.

The farmer’s market has been actively working with low-income patrons to increase access to fresh, locally grown produce.  Over $15,000 was spent in food share at the 2021 summer market, and the Double Your Bucks program that is sponsored by St. Nicholas Hospital increased their buying power by adding another $8,000.  We also were able to distribute 245 Senior Farmers Market Nutrition Program booklets to low-income seniors to purchase $25 of fresh produce at the market in 2021.  The farmers market aligns beautifully with our mission to “advocate for social justice, dignity and to improve the quality of life for all people.”

Bridgeway
Bridgeway could use the following items: hand soap, wrapping paper (holiday or birthday), dryer sheets, and 3 matching holiday vinyl tablecloths.

Bridgeway remains focused on helping moms and kiddos accomplish their goals.  Mental health counseling, debt reduction, and actively searching for affordable housing top the list this month.  Our case manager is working with 10 families through outreach with the hopes of bringing those in who meet the criteria for residency when openings occur.  Until that time, we continue to provide food and other basic necessities to help ease their burden of homelessness or vulnerable living conditions.

El Salvador News
Below is a letter from Esmeralda Guillen who is the coordinator for the scholarship program at Apostles of Christ in El Salvador.

Brothers and Sisters of St. Peter:

I want to greet you affectionately and hope that all of you and your family members are well.

Like many people during the pandemic, I have been vaccinated against Covid. At Apostles of Christ we continue to hold services on Sundays with Pastor Cruz. We always follow the Covid security protocol during church services. No one from our church has gotten sick, thank God.

All the scholarship recipients are studying virtually online. Thank you very much for all the support you give to the students of Apostles of Christ.

We would like to be able to be in communication with you – maybe video calls.

Greetings and hugs from all the people of Apostles of Christ to our brothers and sisters at St. Peter.

God bless you all,
Esmeralda Guillen Scholarship coordinator for Apostles of Christ

LIFELONG LEARNING MISSION NEWS
Sunday School
Sunday School for children ages 3 years through 5th grade has begun from 9:15-9:45am.  At least one caregiver/parent must accompany each household of children.  We need adults to stay because we will not be having a sign-in/sign-out procedure and hope to do many activities outdoors if the weather allows.  Caregivers/parents are encouraged to participate with their children!  Masks are not required outdoors but are still required in the building.

Confirmation
All students entering 6th-9th grade are invited to join confirmation classes on Wednesdays from 6:30-7:30pm.

Bible Study
Join us for Bible Study, led by Myra, on Wednesday mornings from 10:00am to 11:00am in the Fireside Room.  Please reply to this email or call the church office at 920.452.4771 to sign up to attend.

RESOURCE DEVELOPMENT MISSION NEWS
Financial Update
Thanks to our generous congregation, St Peter continues to provide in person and online worship, keep up with technology, offer quality programming, and reach out to our community!  At the end of October, member giving was over $175,000 (well above the 15-year average after 10 months) and we had over $52,000 in our checking account.  We have donated almost $13,000 of our member giving to our partners in the community and beyond (Greater Milwaukee Synod, SCIO, El Salvador, Rainbow Kids, Samaritan’s Hand and Crossways Camping Ministry), and passed on an additional $6,000 to the Northside Christian Food Pantry and several members in need of assistance.  Thank you for helping us live out our mission of glorifying God by building healthy relationships with God, with one another, and with our community following the example of Jesus Christ.

Building Use
We continue to follow the recommendations of The Wisconsin Council of Churches.  They currently recommend taking a 2 out of 3 standard approach: meet outdoors, continue to distance, wear masks.  When we apply 2 of the 3 mitigations, we will be doing much to mitigate risk.

Masks will be optional for outdoor worship and outdoor activities.  Masks are still required inside the building.

As always, we ask that people make arrangements with Carrie in advance to use the building (920.452.4771 or reply to this email).  Building use requirements are still in place for anyone using the building.

Building Use Requirements
We continue to follow building use requirements because we continue to love and care for each other.  Building use requirements for individuals and groups are: staff member must be present in the building (Carrie or Pastor Kristin); masks must be worn; distance of six feet between households; we will wait to eat together for the time being so there will be no shared meals; one person in a bathroom at a time and people are expected to clean after each use on their own using Clorox wipes provided; individuals and groups are expected to remain in planned locations; people should follow the signs regarding entering and exiting the building; if you are feeling ill or have been exposed to anyone who is sick, please do not come into the building.  Staff members do not need to attend meetings, but will be present in the building to track people present and clean after.

COUNCIL UPDATE
The council met on November 9th.  Reports were given.  Christmas worship times were approved (see above).  An additional member of the audit team was selected.

Please keep the following people in your prayers:  Joshua, Brian, Jessie, Bob’s Family, Mya, Bette, Kelsey, Howie, Jimmy, Colleen, Ally, Peyton, Conor, Church Council, Confirmation Class, Jazzy, and Apostles of Christ.
