For some years, we have helped support the Food Pantry across the street at St. Dominic Parish (one of our Tripartite Partners). Last year we included a special push for the Food Pantry in our God’s Work projects. It was so successful and so well-received that we are doing it again!
Part 1: Fill the carts! Look for the 6 grocery carts at church (easy to find them!) Let’s fill them all through the month of August and until September 11th. (You can also donate money and our Super Shoppers will stretch it unbelievably far.)
Part 2: Deliver the food and put it away! The Youth will be leading this part of the project after 10:30 worship on September 11th.
But wait, there’s more! As a way of serving the faithful servants, we are forming a team of people who will go to the Food Pantry to watch and learn and then go back another day to pack bags and distribute food. This is a chance to go the second mile, giving the regular volunteers a break and literally feeding God’s beloved people. Since the Food Pantry is open on Thursdays 12:00-2:00, this service opportunity will be arranged by who is available for it. If you want to know more or sign up for this, contact Janet Blank firstname.lastname@example.org. We’re still looking for a team leader for this one!
