Council Update

The St. Peter Council met on January 13, 2026.  Reports were shared and Missions gave updates.  A motion was made to approve the agenda for the 2026 annual meeting.  The motion passed.  A motion was made and passed to have Giving Sunday on January 25, 2026.  If you have any questions about the meeting, please contact a member of the council.  Members of the council are: Pastor Kristin, Pat D. (President), Joy (Vice President), Ginny (Secretary), Dawn B. (Treasurer), Scott, Barb A., Connie, Jon W., LeAnn.

Note: You will continue to receive regular council updates in this email.  These updates include the significant information from the most recent meeting.  You can find the “official” minutes of all council and team meeting minutes that we receive in the binder marked “Council Reports” that is kept below the bulletin board in the narthex.

Financial Update

As of January 21st, our checking account balance is $300.  Our weekly giving needs to average about $5,000 each week for us to meet our budgeted needs.  We rely on your consistent and faithful giving to provide worship, education and ministry for those at St. Peter and beyond.  What you give matters and God works through you to do the work of the church.  Thank you for your continued generosity!!

GIVING SUNDAY!

Thank you to everyone who turned in their pledge cards last week.  So far, we have enough pledges to cover almost half of our 2026 budget!!  That’s amazing – thank you!!  There is still time to participate.  Please fill out your pledge card (there are extras in the narthex) and bring it to worship anytime in the month of February.  We know that financial giving looks different for everyone and that there are many other ways we share our gifts, time, and energy with the church.  Financial pledging is just one tool for us to use as we continue to glorify God, build relationships, and follow Jesus together.

Quilt Sale Hosted by the WELCA Quilters

$75 per quilt

We are offering quilts that we have made for sale. The sale of some of our quilts will help defray the cost of batting, thread, sewing machine maintenance, and shipping costs of quilts to where they are needed most.

How this works is ….

Choose a quilt that is displayed in the Narthex. Or contact the quilting ladies with specific colors and they will custom make one for you. Make check payable to WELCA.  Take it with you and enjoy its warmth as you read a good book or binge watch movies on the Hallmark channel.  Or maybe put a bow on it and you have the perfect gift for a special person on your Christmas gift list.

This fundraiser is a win/win for you and our quilting ministry. You keep warm this winter and we fund the ministry that sends warmth across the globe.  Thank you for everyone who supports the quilting ministry. You are greatly appreciated.

North Side Christian Food Pantry

NSCFP has started 2026 with a weekly average of 90 households. St. Peter’s support and contributions enable us to provide nutritional food to those in need. The most needed items for February are: Breakfast Bars, Baked Beans, Soup, Canned Meals, Pasta and Rice Sides. The pantry can always use Toilet Paper, Paper Towels, and Kleenex.  Bring your food items to St. Peter and put them in the cart under the coat rack.

NSCFP is open every Thursday from 12:30-2pm and is located at St. Dominic Parish, 2133 N 22nd St. Sheboygan WI. There is a sign posted at the entrance.  Note that we follow Sheboygan Area School Districts closing due to weather. Pat L
