WORSHIP AND WITNESS MISSION NEWS

St. Peter Live

The 10:00am service is livestreamed to our Facebook page (https://m.facebook.com/stpetersheboygan/) each Sunday morning.  Following worship, the service will be uploaded to YouTube (https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCkvPIB8agxVhS72C5822etA) and our website (https://stpetersheboygan.com).   The weekly bulletin can be accessed using the following link:  https://drive.google.com/file/d/1M5VQi5pQS_UYoZjo419axHT9KZ00kyOE/view?usp=sharing

Worship Assistants

Please consider helping out by reading, ushering, serving communion, altar guild, or running tech.  Please take a look at your availability and sign up using the link below or call Carrie to sign up.  The schedule is up through April.  Thank you! https://www.signupgenius.com/go/508084aaaac2eaaf58-worship

Poinsettias

If you ordered a poinsettia for Christmas, please take it home with you!  You’re welcome to grab it after Sunday worship or stop in the office throughout the week.  Just give a call so we know you’re coming.

Weather Cancellations

When it is necessary to cancel services due to weather, the information will be posted on our Facebook page:  St Peter Lutheran Church – Sheboygan, WI as early as possible after the decision is made by Pastor Kristin and the Executive Team.  The information will also be communicated through local TV and radio stations such as WTMJ-4, WHBL, and WISN.  When possible, we will let you know on the St. Peter website and in a mass email (to people we have email addresses for.)

From the Nominating Team

At the February 1st annual meeting we will vote on several leadership roles.  If you know of someone (including yourself!) who would be great in one of these roles, please reach out to Carrie in the office by email stpeter@stpetersheboygan.com or call 920-452-4771 no later than Sunday, January 18th.  The Nominating Team will reach out to nominees to ensure that the responsibilities and expectations are clear, and that the nominees wish to be on the ballot.

Positions available:

~ Council Member (2-year term)

–       Attend monthly meetings, promote a congregational climate of peace and goodwill, endeavor to foster mutual understanding, support the mission of the church.

–       Must be a voting member.  A voting member is someone who has communed in this congregation and has made a contribution of record to this congregation during the current or preceding calendar year.

~ Synod Assembly Representatives (one male and one female)

–       Assembly to be held in Brookfield on May 29 & 30

~ Nominating Team Member (2-year term)

–       Obtain qualified nominees for vacant elected position

The Nominating Team plays a critical role in the selection of candidates for leadership positions within our congregation. It is their responsibility to carefully screen and recommend individuals for these roles. This process involves allowing sufficient time to thoroughly consider each potential nominee and making personal contact with them. During these conversations, the Nominating Team ensures that nominees fully understand the responsibilities of the office and confirms their willingness to accept election if chosen.

Because this process is designed to be thoughtful and comprehensive, nominations from the floor will not be accepted during the annual meeting. Accepting nominations at that time would not provide the Nominating Team with the necessary opportunity to fulfill their duties as outlined in our constitution, including the important step of verifying each candidate’s understanding of expectations and the commitment involved.

Quilt Sale Hosted by the WELCA Quilters

$75 per quilt

We are offering for sale quilts that we have made. The sale of some of our quilts will help defray the cost of batting, thread, sewing machine maintenance, and shipping costs of quilts to where they are needed most.

How this works is ….

Choose a quilt that is displayed in the Narthex. Or contact the quilting ladies with specific colors and they will custom make one for you. Make check payable to WELCA.  Take it with you and enjoy its warmth as you read a good book or binge watch movies on the Hallmark channel.  Or maybe put a bow on it and you have the perfect gift for a special person on your Christmas gift list.

This fundraiser is a win/win for you and our quilting ministry. You keep warm this winter and we fund the ministry that sends warmth across the globe.  Thank you for everyone who supports the quilting ministry. You are greatly appreciated.
