Sharing a meal prior to Lent worship is a longstanding tradition at St. Peter. The meal will be served from 4:45 until 5:45 in the Fellowship Hall. Please consider helping out with setting up beforehand, cleaning up afterwards (or after worship), or donating food to be shared. The signup sheet is available near the bulletins in the narthex, or call the office to see what is needed! Food donations can be dropped off in the kitchen on Sunday (either on the window counter or in the fridge), or any time the office is open. Thank you WELCA for providing the meal on Ash Wednesday.

Everyone is invited to bring fresh cut flowers to place on the cross on Easter Morning.

Easter Breakfast

Council Update

The St. Peter Council met on March 10, 2026.  Reports were shared and Missions gave updates.  A motion was made and passed to have a freewill offering for Easter breakfast to go to the general fund.  If you have any questions about the meeting, please contact a member of the council.  Members of the council are: Pastor Kristin, Barb A. (President), Scott (Vice President), Jamie (Secretary), Dawn B. (Treasurer), LeAnn, Steve R., Judy L., Ginny, Donna.

Note: You will continue to receive regular council updates in this email.  These updates include the significant information from the most recent meeting.  You can find the “official” minutes of all council and team meeting minutes that we receive in the binder marked “Council Reports” that is kept below the bulletin board in the narthex.

WATCH OUT FOR SCAMS

We have heard reports of people at St. Peter receiving texts and/or emails from someone pretending to be Pastor Kristin and asking for gift cards.  That is not Pastor Kristin!  If you get a message like that please do not respond!  You can check with Pastor Kristin to confirm it did not come from her, but she will never ask for gift cards or anything financial via text or individual email.

Financial Update

As of March 17th, our checking account balance is just over $500.  Weekly giving needs to average about $5,000 each week to meet our budgeted expenses.  We have only had three weeks so far this year that have met that goal.  We rely on your consistent, faithful giving to provide worship, education and ministry for those at St. Peter and beyond.  What you give matters and God works through you to do the work of the church.  Thank you for your continued generosity!!

SOCIAL OUTREACH MISSION NEWS

Quilting

Our quilt group is like the game “Tag, you’re IT!”  First step: people cut squares from fabric.  These squares range in sizes of 6″, 8″, 10″, and 12″.  Second step: the squares go to our people who arrange them into the beautiful tops they will become.  Third step: they then go to our people that sew the tops together.  Fourth step: the sewn tops go to our people that sandwich the batting, backing, and top together and pin them.  Fifth step: the pinned sandwiched quilts then go to our sewers who sew them together. The pins are removed and quilt is turned right side out and top stitched around edges to complete.  Final step: the sewn quilt goes to our people that tie them together.  Then, voila! we have finished quilts.

The quilt squares can be sewn at home and brought in for the rest of process. Or it can be done at church. We have extra sewing machines!  Not only do these finished quilts go to LWR, Project Linus, or Bridgeway.  We are now selling them too.  See our table display!  (Sew) we can always use more hands, minds, and skills to make this ministry happen.  Come join us.  TAG – You’re IT!  We meet on the 2nd and 4th Tuesdays of each month from 9 am to noon in the Quadrooms.

P -Y -P Day (Pick your Project)

Come join us on the 1st and the 3rd Tuesday of each month.  If you like to sew, crochet, wrap or write, we have a place for you.  You can bring your own project from home and come for the camaraderie!  We welcome new people to join us!  We will not meet on Tuesday March 31st because of Holy Week.
