Summer Worship Schedule

9:00am Worship in the Sanctuary
Financial Update
So far this year, St Peter has spent $65,500 to keep the church and our ministries up and running. We are coming in just under budget for the first quarter. Of that, $42,000 has gone to staff salaries, insurance, taxes and office expenses. Almost $22,000 has gone to the building – utility bills, property maintenance and insurance, and the mortgage. The balance covers education, worship supplies and outreach. We are making ends meet, but just barely. If there is any more you can do to help out financially as we approach the lean summer months, we would greatly appreciate it. We are truly grateful for all you do to support the ministries of St. Peter, and with your help, we can continue to do much more.
Watch out for scams
We have heard reports of people at St. Peter receiving texts and/or emails from someone pretending to be Pastor Kristin and asking for gift cards. That is not Pastor Kristin! If you get a message like that, please do not respond! You can check with Pastor Kristin to confirm it did not come from her, but she will never ask for gift cards or anything financial via text or individual email.
Severe weather awareness week
In honor of Severe Weather Awareness Week, it is important to know where to go and what to do should severe weather strike and you are at St. Peter. All people should immediately get to rooms away from glass, windows, and other possible flying objects. Seek out the Fellowship hall bathrooms, middle office, or an interior hallway. Move away from large panes of glass and out from under heavy, suspended light fixtures. When the event is over, evacuate the building if necessary to the primary rally point – the parking lot and/or sidewalk on Geele Avenue. Advise people not to touch electrical wires and avoid using matches and lighters until the area is declared safe. All of our emergency action plans are outlined in the red binders located in the Sanctuary, Fireside Room, Sunday School Office, Copy Room and Kitchen.
Lifelong Learning Mission
Last day of Sunday school is this Sunday, April 26th! Thanks for a great year of having fun and learning about God’s love!
Confirmation
Our last class for this academic year is April 29th. We are excited to celebrate Confirmation Sunday on May 3rd.
Bible Study
Join us for Bible Study, led by Myra, on Wednesday mornings from 10:00am-11:00am in the Fireside Room.
Quilting
Our quilt group is like the game “Tag, you’re IT!” First step: people cut squares from fabric. These squares range in sizes of 6″, 8″, 10″, and 12″. Second step: the squares go to our people who arrange them into the beautiful tops they will become. Third step: they then go to our people that sew the tops together. Fourth step: the sewn tops go to our people that sandwich the batting, backing, and top together and pin them. Fifth step: the pinned sandwiched quilts then go to our sewers who sew them together. The pins are removed and quilt is turned right side out and top stitched around edges to complete. Final step: the sewn quilt goes to our people that tie them together. Then, voila! we have finished quilts.
The quilt squares can be sewn at home and brought in for the rest of process. Or it can be done at church. We have extra sewing machines! Not only do these finished quilts go to LWR, Project Linus, or Bridgeway. We are now selling them too. See our table display! (Sew) we can always use more hands, minds, and skills to make this ministry happen. Come join us. TAG – You’re IT! We meet on the 2nd and 4th Tuesdays of each month from 9 am to noon in the Quadrooms.
P -Y -P Day (Pick your Project)
Come join us on the 1st and the 3rd Tuesday of each month. If you like to sew, crochet, wrap or write, we have a place for you. You can bring your own project from home and come for the camaraderie! We welcome new people to join us!
