A Council Update from the President:
After a lengthy discussion, a unanimous decision by the council was made to end the formal support of the El Salvador ministry. The motion passed follows: Due to the lack of leadership and organization, St Peter Lutheran Church is moving to end all support of the El Salvador ministry. Any members that wish to continue their support can donate to the Greater Milwaukee Synod directly. Contact information will be provided if desired. All remaining funds will be transferred to the synod accordingly, $0.82.
Please reach out to a Council member if you have any questions. In Christ, Barb Anderson, President
Financial Update
As of June 10th, our checking account balance is over $12,000, thanks to a very generous donation this week. This will get us through the month of June, but we need your help to get through the summer!! Our weekly giving needs to average about $5,000 each week for us to meet our budgeted needs. We rely on your consistent and faithful giving to provide worship, education and ministry for those at St. Peter and beyond. Thank you for your continued generosity!!
Celebrating 75 Years!
This summer, we will have some fun collecting things as we continue to journey through our 75th year of ministry as St. Peter Lutheran Church. First, we will try to collect 75 God-Sightings! Grab a sticky note, write down a God- Sighting, and post it on the glass wall near the office door. Second, look for the number 75, or 75 things, or something that reminds you of the number 75 and take a picture. Email it to us (stpeter@stpetersheboygan.com) and we will print it out and hang it up. You can also print it yourself and bring it in to hang up. If you can’t take a picture, write about what you saw about the number 75 on a sticky note and put that on the wall by the office door. Let’s enjoy celebrating our 75th anniversary!
Bible Study
Join us for Bible Study, led by Myra, on Wednesday mornings from 10:00am-11:00am in the Fireside Room.
Quilting
Our quilt group is like the game “Tag, you’re IT!” First step: people cut squares from fabric. These squares range in sizes of 6″, 8″, 10″, and 12″. Second step: the squares go to our people who arrange them into the beautiful tops they will become. Third step: they then go to our people that sew the tops together. Fourth step: the sewn tops go to our people that sandwich the batting, backing, and top together and pin them. Fifth step: the pinned sandwiched quilts then go to our sewers who sew them together. The pins are removed and quilt is turned right side out and top stitched around edges to complete. Final step: the sewn quilt goes to our people that tie them together. Then, voila! we have finished quilts.
The quilt squares can be sewn at home and brought in for the rest of process. Or it can be done at church. We have extra sewing machines! Not only do these finished quilts go to LWR, Project Linus, or Bridgeway. We are now selling them too. See our table display! (Sew) we can always use more hands, minds, and skills to make this ministry happen. Come join us. TAG – You’re IT! We meet on the 2nd and 4th Tuesdays of each month from 9 am to noon in the Quadrooms.
P -Y -P Day (Pick your Project)
Come join us on the 1st and the 3rd Tuesday of each month. If you like to sew, crochet, wrap or write, we have a place for you. You can bring your own project from home and come for the camaraderie! We welcome new people to join us!
