Lifelong Learning Mission 

Join us for worship this Sunday, August 30th for a Blessing of the Academic Year and get this year’s backpack tag!

Sunday School

Sunday School starts on September 13th.  Kids ages 3 yrs old-5th grade are invited to join us on Sunday mornings from 9:00-9:45am for Bible stories, music, activities and fun!  Grownups of Sunday School age youth are invited to stay.  Kids younger than 3 years old are also invited, as long as they are accompanied by a grownup.  If you are interested in helping, please talk to Pastor Kristin.  Register at:  https://stpeter.breezechms.com/form/3931c5

Confirmation

Confirmation starts on Wednesday, September 16th from 6:30-7:30pm.  A grownup for each student should plan on attending the first class along with the student.  Youth in confirmation are typically in grades 6-8.  Talk to Pastor Kristin if you have any questions.  Register at:  https://stpeter.breezechms.com/form/3931c5

High School Drop In

High school youth in grades 9-12 are invited to hang out at church on Wednesday evenings from 6:30-7:30pm beginning on September 16th.  Enjoy time with friends, play some games, do your homework, hang out, chill, relax and have fun.  Friends are always welcome. 

Bible Study 

Join us for Bible Study, led by Myra, on Wednesday mornings from 10:00am-11:00am in the Fireside Room. 

SOCIAL OUTREACH MISSION NEWS  

Lutheran World Relief School Kits 

Please take advantage of the back-to-school sales and help complete our goal of 140 school kits.  We are in need of blunt scissors, pencil sharpeners, boxes of crayons, erasers, rulers, notebooks, pencils, and pens.  Please place your donations in the bin under the table in front of the office.  Thank you!

Dartball Aluminum Can Drive

Bring your bags of aluminum cans to the kitchen entrance (north side) of the building this Sunday,August 30th before or after worship.  There is a bin in the dumpster area off the kitchen, labeled for aluminum, for anytime drop off.  If you would like someone to pick up your aluminum, let Carrie know and she can make arrangements.  The proceeds from the can drive will be split with WELCA.  The Dartball Team will use their portion to pay for entry fees and other expenses.  

Quilting

Quilting group is going strong thanks to all who continue to contribute their time to the ministry.  We have over 75+ quilts made for both adults and Linus.  We meet on the 2nd and 4th Tuesdays of each month from 9 am to noon in the Quadrooms. 

P -Y -P Day (Pick your Project)

Come join us on the 1st and the 3rd Tuesday of each month.  If you like to sew, crochet, wrap or write, we have a place for you.  You can bring your own project from home and come for the camaraderie!  We welcome new people to join us! 

Fidget Mats Plus is St. Peter in Action!   

Thank you for your support and confidence people of St. Peter.   One of our mats and a cuff went to a person in house.   Please remember that all mats, cuffs and bibs are for us as well as the community and are available to any with a need.  Please join us each Thursday from 10am till noon.   

COMMUNITY RESOURCES   

Northside Christian Food Pantry 

Thank you for your continued support of the Northside Christian Food Pantry. The items most needed for September are as follows:  peanut butter, jam/jelly (but NOT grape), canned meals, soup, Manwich, and toilet paper. We also could use clean plastic grocery bags. Please put the items in the grocery cart in the narthex under the coat rack. 

988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline

This lifeline provides care and support to people experiencing stressful situations.  It is free, confidential, and is available 24/7.  People of all ages who need help for themselves or a loved one can access the 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline by: calling 988, sending a text message to 988, or using the chat feature at 988lifeline.org.  People who contact 988 will be connected with a trained counselor who takes note of the person’s needs, understands how the person’s problem is affecting them, provides support, and, if needed, gets the person additional help.
