Financial Update

As of August 6th, our checking account balance is over $19,000, thanks to everyone’s very generous donations.  With busy schedules and vacations, the summer is tough for churches.  Thank you so much for keeping us in mind, even when you may not make it to worship on Sunday mornings.   Our weekly giving needs to average about $5,000 each week for us to meet our budgeted needs.  We rely on your consistent and faithful giving to provide worship, education and ministry for those at St. Peter and beyond.  What you give matters and God works through you to do the work of the church.  Thank you for your continued generosity!!

Lifelong Learning Mission

Bible Study

Join us for Bible Study, led by Myra, on Wednesday mornings from 10:00am-11:00am in the Fireside Room.

PARISH LIFE MISSION NEWS

75th Anniversary Celebration
THANK YOU for a wonderful 75th anniversary celebration!  Thank you for planning, worshiping, eating, and sharing fellowship with each other.  A lot of work went into what was a beautiful day.  Thank you for helping and for being part of it all!

Dartball Aluminum Can Drive

your bags of aluminum cans to the kitchen entrance (north side) of the building on Sunday August 31st before or after worship.  There is a bin in the dumpster area off the kitchen, labeled for aluminum, for anytime drop off.  If you would like someone to pick up your aluminum, let Carrie know and she can make arrangements.  The proceeds from the can drive will be split with WELCA.  The Dartball Team will use their portion to pay for entry fees and other expenses.

SOCIAL OUTREACH MISSION NEWS

Bubble Bonanza

Bubble Bonanza, with your help, will provide scrubbing bubbles for Baby Care Kits and Personal Care Kits.  Lutheran World Relief shares: “when families find their homes destroyed, or must flee for their safety, soap and a towel rarely make the cut for what they can carry. Arriving in a refugee camp or other place of safety, they are scared, vulnerable and dirty from the travel. The soap in a LWR kit provides much-needed self-care, critical germ fighting supplies and the chance for our neighbors in need to regain dignity amidst fear and uncertainty.”

So, WELCA is hosting Bubble Bonanza, an opportunity to fill our tub with bars of soap to be used in completing Baby Care Kits and Personal Care Kits for LWR.  Needed are:

Personal Care Kit – two bath-size bars of soap.

Baby Care Kits – two bath-size bars of GENTLE soap (Dove, Ivory etc)

Just like bubbles lightly float away, so does the impact of generosity float to those who need it most. Maybe your donated bar of soap will keep the exact person healthy and strong that will ultimately change the world. It really is the simple things that move us forward.

North Side Christian Food Pantry

Several churches, individuals, businesses, and the Food Bank contribute to NSCFP in order to serve those who are in need.  Volunteers sort, organize, and distribute food items every Thursday.  NSCFP’s mission is not only to provide food but to respect the dignity of each person served. The pantry is thankful for all of the volunteers who donate their time and effort to assist those in need. Four members of St Peter consistently volunteer at NSCFP.

The most needed items for August are: Cereal/Breakfast Bars, Baked Beans, Manwich, Spaghetti Sauce/Pasta, Canned Fruit and Canned Chicken (no Tuna needed), Peanut Butter/Jelly, Toilet Paper, Paper Towels and Kleenex. Please bring food donations to St. Peter and place them in the food cart under the coat rack and they will be brought over to the pantry.  Financial donations will be used to purchase fresh fruit, vegetables, and meat. The pantry is located at: St. Dominic Parish, 2133 North 22nd Street, Sheboygan WI 53081 If you have any questions about the pantry, please contact Pat L.
