Council Update
The St. Peter Council met on August 12, 2025. There was no council meeting in July 2025. Reports were shared and Missions gave updates. Thank you for the wonderful celebration of our 75th anniversary! Guests were invited and were present for the celebration. Former pastors of St. Peter, Pastor Mark Petersen and Pastor Rod Nordby attended worship, the meal, and shared statements. Former pastor, Pastor Jan Flaaten sent a letter that was read. The Bishop of the Greater Milwaukee Synod, Bishop Paul Erickson, preached during worship and attended the 75th anniversary celebration meal. A motion was made and passed to accept the resignations of Lisa and Lowell from the council. A motion was made to accept the recommendation presented by the finance team to switch garbage services to GFL for cost savings. The motion passed. An update was given about the building use status of Living Waters Church. Due to the new St. Peter insurance policy, Living Waters Church was unable to get the insurance coverage that St. Peter was requiring of them to use the building. Therefore, they will no longer be using St. Peter for their ministries. If you have any questions about the meeting, please contact a member of the council. Members of the council are: Pastor Kristin, Pat D. (President), Joy (Vice President), Ginny (Secretary), Dawn B. (Treasurer), Scott, Barb A., Connie, Jon W., LeAnn.
Note: You will continue to receive regular council updates in this email. These updates include the significant information from the most recent meeting. You can find the “official” minutes of all council and team meeting minutes that we receive in the binder marked “Council Reports” that is kept below the bulletin board in the narthex.

Please take advantage of the back-to-school sales and help complete our goal of 140 school kits. We are in need of blunt scissors, pencil sharpeners, boxes of crayons, erasers, rulers, notebooks, pencils, and pens. There are post it notes on the office wall requesting these supplies. Please grab a post it (or two) and help us fill the school bags on September 28th – assembly day! Please place your donations in the bin on the table in front of the office. Thank you!
Thank you, people of St. Peter, for all you do to help with Lutheran World Relief donations. We are in need of lightweight dark BATH towels and HAND towels for our layette and personal care kits. We can fill the need with your help. Thank you.
Quilting
Many thanks to all who have been working and continue to work as a team for this ministry. We have done 132 adult and 32 children’s quilts so far in 2025. Join us for quilting on the 2nd and 4th Tuesdays of each month from 9:00am to noon, in the Quadrooms.
P-Y-P Day (Pick your Project)
Join us on the 1st and 3rd Tuesdays of each month in the Quadrooms from 9:00am to noon. If you have the desire to serve, sew, create, wrap, write…then this is a day for you!! You could bundle Layette Kits or Personal Care Kits for LWR, address envelopes for WELCA – the list of needs is long. You need a project? We can help!
Fidget Mats Plus!
Fidget Mats Plus has had many compliments on our mats but a request has been made that we make mats heavier. A design has been created to make an inner panel using pillowcases cut to fit mat size and sectioned into pockets for rice. The panel is then placed in a plastic bag for safety against wetness. This is then sandwiched and sewn between the top and bottom panels of the mat to secure. Our sample has been tried and accepted. Got to give thanks for creativity! Join us each Thursday from 10:00am until noon in the Quadrooms.
North Side Christian Food Pantry
Several churches, individuals, businesses, and the Food Bank contribute to NSCFP in order to serve those who are in need. Volunteers sort, organize, and distribute food items every Thursday.
