COUNCIL UPDATE
The St. Peter Council met on September 9, 2025. Reports were shared and Missions gave updates. A motion was made to appoint Russ T. to the endowment team. The motion passed. If you have any questions about the meeting, please contact a member of the council. Members of the council are: Pastor Kristin, Pat D. (President), Joy (Vice President), Ginny (Secretary), Dawn B. (Treasurer), Scott, Barb A., Connie, Jon W., LeAnn.
Note: You will continue to receive regular council updates in this email. These updates include the significant information from the most recent meeting. You can find the “official” minutes of all council and team meeting minutes that we receive in the binder marked “Council Reports” that is kept below the bulletin board in the narthex.
Financial Update
As of September 25th, our checking account balance is $6,275. There are many ways to support the ministries at St. Peter, you can place your envelope in the offering plate on your way into or out of worship. You can write a check and mail it to St. Peter. You can give online at stpetersheboygan.com – Click on the ‘resources’ tab, then click ‘online giving.’ You can scan the QR Code in the bulletin and it will take you to our secure online giving page. Or you could set up a one time or recurring bill pay through your bank! Thank you for your continued generosity!!
For many years, St. Peter has been working hard to pay down the church mortgage. The current rate of our 5-year balloon is 3.35% and it comes due in November. St. Peter has made tremendous strides in decreasing the mortgage over the past 5 years – over $93,500. We all should be congratulated on this progress.
The current amount on the mortgage is approximately $220,850. Our refinance rate is expected to be between 7% and 15%, which will increase our monthly payment by $700 or more per month. The finance team is looking at multiple options, from local banks/credit unions, regional banks and refinancing through an ELCA fund for churches to find the best possible rate and terms possible.
The finance team will continue to look at commercial mortgage rates and if a decrease of 1-2 % occurs during the life of the next loan, we will seek to refinance. It is also anticipated St. Peter’s mortgage will be paid off in 10 years.

Lutheran World Relief School Kits
Please join us on Sunday, September 28th between services and fill a school bag, or two, for Lutheran World Relief. Thank you for all of your generous donations!!
Many thanks to all who have been working and continue to work as a team for this ministry. We have done 132 adult and 32 children’s quilts so far in 2025. Join us for quilting on the 2nd and 4th Tuesdays of each month from 9:00am to noon, in the Quadrooms.
Join us on the 1st and 3rd Tuesdays of each month in the Quadrooms from 9:00am to noon. If you have the desire to serve, sew, create, wrap, write…then this is a day for you!! You could bundle Layette Kits or Personal Care Kits for LWR, address envelopes for WELCA – the list of needs is long. You need a project? We can help!
Fidget Mats Plus has had many compliments on our mats but a request has been made that we make mats heavier. A design has been created to make an inner panel using pillowcases cut to fit mat size and sectioned into pockets for rice. The panel is then placed in a plastic bag for safety against wetness. This is then sandwiched and sewn between the top and bottom panels of the mat to secure. Our sample has been tried and accepted. Got to give thanks for creativity! Join us each Thursday from 10:00am until noon in the Quadrooms.
